Project: Career In Focus Branding & Print Design

The Client

Career In Focus was started by Saskia van Lier, who is passionate about supporting women to get the most from their careers, whatever that means to them.

She offers a personalised career coaching program that helps individuals gain a better understanding of themselves, gain clarity about what they want, explore and investigate different career options, and finally create an action plan to help them find a rewarding and meaningful career that is right for them.

The Brief

Saskia came to me when she started her business journey. She was about to have a website built but didn’t have a brand identity and she wanted one.

Her brief was something simple, easy to read that would appeal to her ideal audience of women returning to work after a career break. We also discussed using some kind of directional object as her icon, to symbolise moving forward and changing your career path.

The Process

All logo design projects start with a consultation call in which we discuss your; ideal client, business and personal values, competitors, ideal colour palette, thoughts on icons, preferred typeface styles and more.

After I’ve sketched up a few workable concepts, I then draw them up into Adobe Illustrator, ready to present to the client. I usually aim for 3-5 concepts for stage 1, in this instance, there were 7 initial concepts for Saskia to choose from! Once we narrowed down her preferred options and developed her colour palette, Saskia chose her final design.

Below, I’ve shown the stages of logo development, so you can understand how we got from my initial sketches through to the polished design.

I always make sure I provide my clients with a vast array of file formats, so they have everything they should ever need in order to use their logo effectively.

“I absolutely love the logo and business cards Christina designed for me! She is so talented and creative.”

The Outcome

A clean, polished, feminine logo that provides flexibility and appeals to Saskia’s ideal clients. As well as a set of business cards that portray a high quality, personal service.

Littlebigbox implemented Saskia’s branding into her new website design and I think it looks fabulous…
